The ask
In the early hours, a motion sensor triggered an alarm at the Mission to Seafarers (MTS) Centre in Geraldton.
As the site was unattended at the time, this prompted immediate concern for a potential breach or unauthorised activity.
The situation required urgent attendance and inspection to determine whether it was a genuine threat or a false activation.
MTS contacted Yampurru/ ERS for assistance in assessing the security of the premises and ensuring no disruption to the surrounding property or personnel.
What we did
An Yampurru/ERS Security Officer from the Mid West Ports patrol attended the site promptly at approximately 1:00 am in response to the alarm.
Upon arrival, he conducted a thorough check of the premises, focusing on the stock shed where the motion sensor had been triggered.
The officer confirmed there were no signs of forced entry or suspicious activity. His professional and respectful manner helped reassure the client.
Once it was confirmed to be a false alarm, the officer reported his findings and stood down the response.
What we achieved
The Yampurru/ ERS Security’s night patrol team provided prompt and professional support during a false alarm activation at MTS Centre in Geraldton.
The officer responded quickly to the callout, ensured the premises were secure, and conducted a calm and courteous investigation.
Although the incident was later confirmed as a false alarm triggered by a motion sensor, the response provided reassurance to the client.
